What is Faith Promise?
Faith Promise is a personal commitment we make to God to give to His cause on a regular basis.
It's a promise because of the commitment to provide a certain amount over a specific time period (usually a year) for missions.
It requires faith because we are trusting God to provide these funds.
Giving to SCC Global Outreach requires us to agree with God that all the nations of the world must hear and know Jesus.
What does the Bible say?
The basis of Faith Promise is deeply Biblical, rooted in God's desire and plan for the ages.
Faith Promise rests on three basic Bible truths:
· God loves the world and wants every person to hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)
· God uses people - His church - to be His ambassadors & His instruments to accomplish this. (2 Corinthians 5:20)
· God's people are intended to walk by faith, trusting God for everything. Living a life of obedience, we fulfill God's purposes in the world. (Hebrews 11:16)
Who should participate in Faith Promise?
Everyone!
Our children may not have the financial resources of adults, but it's crucial to train our kids in a life of faith living, sacrificial giving, and counter-consumerism.
We all can make ourselves available to Him as a channel for world evangelization through our prayers and finances.
Regardless of the size of our gift, giving (like faith and love) should flow from a heart filled with gratitude and humility.
